POSITION SUMMARY
Provide at home infusion and injection services for Iron IV patients; assist treatment, care, and evaluation of patients; coordinate scheduling and safety during infusions.
Provides emergency care if needed and coordinate with medical director regarding patient concerns. Provide treatment recommendations based of symptoms and treatment goal of the patient in collaboration with Iron IV protocols and Medical Director.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Must be a licensed practice nurse (L.P.N.) or registered nurse (R.N.)
Training and Experience:
Preferably have 1-3-year experience in Nursing.
Experience with placing Peripheral IVs.
Knowledge Required:
Must have a working knowledge of general emergency nursing practice and infusion services.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides primary infusion care services to patients.
Evaluates clients’ illness and injuries as to whether the client requires the attention of and medical director or will need emergency services.
Prepare and administer IV infusions and IM injections.
Prepare patients for and perform basic tests and procedures. Performing blood draws and other testing services.
Documents treatment notes in the patient record in a timely and professional manner, in accordance with charting guidelines.
Communicates effectively with other staff, family, nurses, and practitioners.
Perform weekly Marketing Posts on social media as instructed by leadership.
Attend bi-annually in-service training meetings (attendance required).
Aid in marketing events held on an as needed basis (Expo’s, sporting events, etc.).
Evaluate; perform ongoing assessment and revise treatments based on new data and the patient’s condition.
Comply with Iron IV’s infection control policies and procedures, including body substance isolation (BSI), and the exposure control plan which reflects OSHA Blood-borne Pathogens Standards to ensure a safe working environment.
Adhere to other duties as assigned.
