Position Overview
We are seeking a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) to provide psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, medication management, and ongoing psychiatric care within our outpatient and IOP programs.
This role functions within an interdisciplinary CCBHC team and supports integrated behavioral health treatment across mental health and co-occurring substance use disorders.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and establish person-centered treatment approach
- Complete and document thorough psychiatric assessments aligned with medical necessity standards
- Provide ongoing medication management and monitor clinical response
- Support Level 2.1 IOP clients with psychiatric oversight and medication stabilization
- Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary team members including: LCSW, CPC, MFT, CADC, LADC, QMHAs, QBAs, PRSS
- Participate in treatment team meetings and case consultations
- Provide psychoeducation to clients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, and symptom management
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with: Nevada Medicaid MSM Chapters 100, 200, 400 and 4100
- CCBHC requirements fluency
- State and federal regulatory standards
- Support quality improvement initiatives and integrated care coordination
Qualifications
- Active Nevada license as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC)
- At least 2 years of PMHNP Licensure
- Must be able to work with youth/adolescents
- Master’s or Doctorate degree in Nursing from an accredited institution
- DEA registration and prescriptive authority in Nevada
- Experience in outpatient behavioral health settings preferred
- Experience working with co-occurring disorders strongly preferred
- IOP experience is a strong plus
- Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus
- Strong understanding of medical necessity and structured documentation
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary, compliance-oriented CCBHC environment
- Positive attitude, strong clinical judgment, and eagerness to contribute to program growth
