We're seeking an Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Advisor to champion the health, safety, and environmental protection of employees across our data center operations. This role plays a critical part in strengthening IREN’s safety culture by partnering with all departments to ensure regulatory compliance, identify and control workplace hazards, and proactively reduce risk before issues arise.

Job requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, diploma, or recognized professional certification in Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of HSE experience in construction, utilities, electrical infrastructure, data centers, or industrial operations.
- Strong understanding of OSHA regulations, environmental compliance principles, and industry best practices.
- Track record of implementing or supporting structured HSE management systems (e.g., ISO 45001, ISO 14001, or equivalent).
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to coach, influence, and collaborate effectively at all organizational levels.
- Demonstrated capability in hazard identification, risk assessment, and recommending practical, high-impact controls.
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking ability, with a consultative and solutions-oriented approach.
- Solid understanding of construction and electrical infrastructure activities, including permit-to-work, LOTO, and high-risk task management.
- Ability to execute plans and hold teams accountable to defined performance outcomes.
- Results-driven mindset with a sense of urgency and willingness to challenge the status quo to drive continuous improvement.
- Proficiency with software platforms for compliance tracking, incident management, training, and reporting.
- Ability to travel periodically in support of IREN’s network of regional data centers and prospective U.S. sites.
Other important requirements:
- Pre-employment screening, including background check and substance testing may be required according to company policies.
- Must provide own steel-toed work boots; other PPE will be supplied.
- Must be able to reliably commute to the work site daily or have plans to relocate before starting work.
- Must be comfortable working a rotational schedule, which includes day and night shifts as well as weekend work, based on project needs.
- Employees working night shifts will receive a 15% premium added to their hourly rate only for hours worked during night shifts.
Job responsibilities
- Implement and continuously enhance the EHS Management System to ensure well-defined, fit-for-purpose processes that address business needs, mitigate risks, and seize opportunities.
- Champion a proactive culture of continuous improvement and lead effective change management within a fast-growing, multi-jurisdictional, and multicultural organization.
- Conduct regular reviews and assessments of health, safety, and environmental risks to identify areas for improvement and ensure ongoing compliance.
- Perform routine audits of safety and environmental performance to verify alignment with regulatory requirements and IREN’s internal policies.
- Support the collection, analysis, and reporting of safety and environmental data, including key performance indicators and site-specific outcomes.
- Participate in incident investigations, provide actionable recommendations, and share key learnings to drive site-wide improvements in HSE practices.
- Collaborate with the site safety manager to develop and execute annual health, safety, and training goals, ensuring measurable progress and successful implementation.
