OVERVIEW & PURPOSE: Under general supervision of the EMS Logistics Coordinator, the EMS Logistics Technician is responsible for managing and maintaining supply levels on ambulances and EMS bases, ensuring that patient-care equipment is available and in good condition. This entry-level position involves working closely with staff at outlying stations to manage supplies and equipment, while adhering to infection control guidelines and performing clerical tasks related to inventory management.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Assists in maintaining a clean and well-organized supply warehouse.Restocks incoming supplies in the supply warehouse.Pulls and delivers stock requisitions to outlying stations.Creates supply bins for use in ambulances.Cleans and decontaminates ambulances per infection control guidelines.Assists with physical inventory data entry and comparison verification.Maintains working knowledge of inventory par level analysis.Ensures all equipment and medications are within expiration and purges expired supplies.Performs clerical tracking including stat issues/transfers, verifying stock discrepancies, filing, and other duties as assigned.ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS: Performs other related work as required.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES: Comprehensive knowledge of equipment and supplies used in the emergency care of the sick and injured.Ability to communicate in both verbal and written form to individuals and groups to convey information effectively.Ability to actively look for ways to help staff work more efficiently.Ability to maintain knowledge of Iredell County EMS System procedures, and Iredell County EMS operating guidelines.Attend mandatory paid continuing education required to maintain certification.Knowledge of infection control procedures and exposure control methods.Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with tact and discretion.
