Transportation Logistics Coordinator

Job Description:

Responsibilities include scheduling freight with third party carriers, tracking and tracing shipments, customer interaction and collaborating with company sales staff to ensure customer satisfaction. Provide “White Glove” customer service at all times.

Compensation and Benefits:

· Starting Salary $20.55 per hour

· Shift 8am-430pm M-F

Responsibilties:

· Optimizing transportation shipments for customers while balancing service and cost using the Freight Vision software system.

· Manage all customer account and contact information, sales call notes, and rate quote documents as well as any other customer interaction information through Freight Vision.

· Provide quotes and handle booking requests for all transactional customers.

· Monitoring and tracking transportation shipments from inception to final delivery.

· Maintaining relationships established with carriers to ensure capacity and monitor service standards.

· Communicating effectively with customers, carriers, and teammates.

· Analyzing and recommending broad based innovative improvement initiatives for the account with a focus on eliminating root causes of recurring issues which leads to driving down costs and/or improving service.

· Using professional judgment to assess the impact of tactical decisions/actions on the customer.

· Balancing the customers’ needs with our company’s profitability.

· Developing standard operating procedures based on the direction from manager.

· Assisting in the maintenance of the account plan to ensure sustainability of our services and expand our solution set.

· Utilize a consultative sales approach to identify, solicit, and secure new business from existing and new customers.

· Competence in industrial internet websites such as DAT & Carrier411.com to identify potential carriers.

· Provide sales support for marketing programs such as direct marketing campaigns, web ads, print ads, and other sales lead programs.

· Flexible availability to perform on-call duty which will consist of but is not limited to, checking on loads in transit after hours and responsible for calling a transportation service in the event of a driver breakdown as assigned by operations manager.

· Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

· MUST have a minimum of 2-years’ verifiable experience as a Logistics Coordinator, Freight Broker, and/or Driver Manager.

· High school degree or equivalent qualification from an accredited institution.

· Strong people skills with the ability to develop effective customer and teammate relationships.

· Strong written communication skills required including knowledge of proper email etiquette.

· Ability to quickly learn technology and understand complex systems while working in an open environment.

· Requires exceptional multi-tasking skills, able to work independently, strong initiative to solve issues with a resilience to overcome barriers and quick decision making for effective outcomes.

· Proficiency with PC skills and Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Adobe.

· Energetic and open to new ideas and direction changes.

· Exceptional organizational skills, very detail-oriented, and ability to set priorities.

· Ability to understand and apply problem solving and quality improvement processes.

· Should have the ability to efficiently and effectively manage time and carry out instructions.

· Will be able to work in a team-oriented environment while maintaining a high degree of accuracy.
