IR Centers at Southern Urology is a multidisciplinary private practice endovascular lab in Lafayette, LA. We are leading minimally invasive procedures at 30 locations across the U.S. by providing interventional radiology services in an outpatient setting.

As a Medical Assistant, you will be responsible for providing support to ensure efficient operation of our outpatient center. You will support doctors and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization, and communication. The target is to complete all activities accurately, with high quality, and in a timely manner.
Responsibilities:
- Interview patients and document basic medical history
- Take vitals pre/post-op and document findings in their patient chart
- Organize, authorize, and schedule appointments for referrals
- Send prescriptions electronically, by fax, or by verbally calling them in
- Assist during medical examinations
- Place IVs prior to procedure
- Triage patient calls, assess the problem, consult with the physician
- Produce and distribute correspondence memos, letters, faxes and forms
- Prepare and clean treatment rooms and medical instruments
Skills:
- Proven working experience as a medical assistant
- IV insertion
- Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Office and EMR systems
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2 years Medical Assistant experience
- BLS Certification (Or Willingness to obtain)
- English
- Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (Preferred)
