Iona University Department of Nursing invites applications for 10-month full-time faculty non-tenure track Clinical Lecturer of Nursing to teach in its BS in Nursing accelerated and traditional programs. Rank commensurate with background and experience will be determined upon hire. Applicants should have clinical and teaching experience in medical-surgical/adult health. The position begins August 15, 2026.
The faculty member will be responsible for delivering high quality learning experiences and education for undergraduate nursing students. The faculty member will demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in teaching, have a record of service activities for the School/University and profession, participate in professional development and scholarship, and work collaboratively with colleagues in the department and across the university. Other responsibilities include preparation of course materials, delivery of engaging assignments, evaluation of student learning, mentorship to students, and contributions to enhance the visibility, impact, and reputation of Iona University.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in nursing
- New York State unencumbered RN License
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in teaching at the collegiate level
- Clinical experience within area of expertise – medical-surgical/adult health
Preferred Qualifications:
- An earned doctorate in nursing or a related field
- CNE certification
- Recognized scholarly experience as evidenced by academic accomplishments, publications, and service commensurate with the rank of appointment
Required Skills/Experience:
- Exhibited a strong understanding of and dedication to fostering a collaborative and professional working and learning environment
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Experience in curriculum development and assessment
- Working knowledge of regulations for nursing education
- Outstanding computer skills that include proficiency Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint and ability to quickly learn other software platforms
