What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fabrication Technician position at Intralox?
Responsibilities:
- Ensure Field Installation personnel have all necessary tools and equipment to complete jobs.
- Perform inventories on tools and equipment as needed.
- Inspect tools and equipment when returned from the field making sure everything is in good working order. Any reorganizing, replenishments or repairs are made prior to put away.
- Build specialized pallets and crates as needed.
- Fabricates steel components (using shear, break, iron worker etc.) to support Field Installation and Production teams.
- Assist with securing specialized equipment for shipment.
- Perform continuous improvement efforts in facility to improve productivity.
- Update tools database as requests come in from installation team.
- Handle general maintenance requests as directed by Field Installation Manager.
- Safely operate various lift equipment.
- Perform housekeeping duties as required.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Effectively exhibit teamwork and self – management practices.
- Follow the attendance policy of the Department.
- Follow all safety procedures and policies.
- Work overtime flexible schedules, holidays, and weekends as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
- A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- At least five (5) years of experience in mechanical assembly and fabricating miscellaneous mechanical parts.
- Previous experience building specialized pallets and crates.
- Previous experience with a database/inventory management system.
- Previous experience ordering specialized equipment for shipment.
- Proficient with powered tools, forklifts, and vertical lifts.
- Previous experience with the operation of lift equipment.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft office software (Excel, Outlook, Word).
- Ability to edit/modify spreadsheets.
- Must have strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work with all types of people in a team-oriented environment.
- Must be willing to cross-train in other work centers if/as needed.
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
- Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply and fractions).
- Able to safely work for extended periods of time, well beyond an 8-hour workday.
- Willing and able to work overtime, holidays and weekends as needed.
- Ability to lift materials up to 75 pounds.
- A valid driver’s license.
Desired Qualifications:
- Qualified forklift certification.
- Prior woodworking experience.
- Ability to construct things from scratch.
- Prior welding experience.
