About the Position
Reporting to the CFO, the Staff Accountant will have at least 2 years of experience and provide entry level financial and administrative support services. The person in this position works closely with other accounting personnel, internal departments and external parties, including our overseas International Partners.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Our in-house online database provides automation and reporting that considerably facilitates the execution of the tasks below.
- Manage accounts receivable and payable cycles.
- Process invoices electronically to our overseas International Partners.
- Monitor and ensure timely collections.
- Process payments received.
- Resolve account inquiries and process cancellations, credits and refunds.
- Process payments via checks in QuickBooks or bank wire transfers and online payments.
- Process banking and cash transaction journal entries in QuickBooks software.
- Run automated financial reports for the CFO. Occasionally create custom reports and reconciliations.
- Assist our external accountants with monthly reconciliation and the annual audit.
- Maintain contracts, agreements, financial documents and other important documents.
- Coordinating issuance of official Department of State documents to our international partners.
- Coverage for other admin personnel as needed.
- Ad hoc tasks and projects as needed.
Required skills:
The person in this position must be very organized with high attention to detail and possess strong communication skills as this position requires constant communication with our partners. Must be a team player, highly collaborative, flexible and adaptable to change. Must have skills with online systems such as QuickBooks Online. Basic computer skills are also required.
Desired skills:
Knowledge or familiarity with QuickBooks and Excel is not required but highly desired. A degree in accounting or finance. Analytical and problem-solving aptitude. Open to develop new skills and knowledge.
