What are the responsibilities and job description for the Childcare Teacher position at International Kidz Academy?
An Infant Teacher is responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for infants ages 6 weeks to 12 months. Duties include feeding, diapering, maintaining daily schedules, supervising play and learning activities, communicating with parents, and ensuring all health and safety standards are followed. Infant Teachers must support children’s emotional, physical, cognitive, and social development while maintaining classroom cleanliness and proper documentation.
Florida Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required
- Complete Florida DCF 40-hour Introductory Child Care Training within required timeframe
- Complete Infant & Toddler Appropriate Practices training
- Complete Safe Sleep/Shaken Baby Syndrome training for infant care staff
- Pass Level 2 background screening and fingerprinting
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred or required by center
- Must complete annual in-service training hours
- FCCPC, CDA, or Early Childhood credential preferred for lead positions
