Job Title: Lead for Functional Learning Program
We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Leader to develop and oversee our Functional Learning Center, providing students, with a dynamic and engaging experience. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children of varying learning levels and abilities, with a strong commitment to fostering their success and independence.
This role focuses on creating a positive and fun learning environment while developing and delivering a functional curriculum tailored to meet the unique needs of each student. The curriculum will encompass academics, independent daily living skills, and social skills.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement appropriate lessons that promote learning and the development of independence across ages and developmental levels.
- Foster a fun, safe, and nurturing classroom environment that encourages cooperation and participation.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues regarding student progress and needs.
- Assess student performance and adjust programs as needed to support growth.
- Collaborate with support staff to enhance curriculum development and instructional strategies.
- Supervise students during various activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Maintain records of student attendance, assessments, and progress.
Qualifications:
- Experience working with children in a similar educational setting that provides a wide variety of learning across ages and stages of development is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of curriculum development that meets diverse learning needs and abilities, particularly for children with Autism and related diagnoses.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and staff.
- Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a plus.
- Patience, creativity, and a passion for teaching children is essential for success in this role.
