Job Description
Based in Norridge, Illinois, the successful candidate will manage daily operational functions, including warehousing & inventory management, divisional purchasing, and facility management, and oversee our leading customer support team. This critical role will assist in bridging communication between vendors, customers & internal staff, and enable strategic operational improvements throughout the organization. The ideal candidate is objective-oriented and a tactical thinker with heightened capabilities in leadership.
Responsibilties include the following:
- Operational and Warehouse Management
· Oversee all warehouse functions, including inventory management
· Review and resolve operational discrepancies
· Manage vendor RMPO, Buyback, and DIF programs
· Facility management, including building maintenance and facility upkeep
· Manage and track compliance involving safety inspections
- Purchasing and Inventory Control
· Manage end-to-end purchasing inventory lifecycle with a focus on optimization
· Conduct weekly buying reviews, working closely with the lead purchaser
· Maintain and update vendor price books and pricing within the system
· Track and analyze vendor sales performance & serve as primary vendor contact
· Generate Inventory analysis & reporting for corporate review
- Inside Sales & Team Leadership
· Provide direct oversight and leadership for the inside sales team & their supervisor
· Serve as the final escalation point for complex customer/vendor issues
· Ensure adherence to sales and operations policies & procedures
· Coordinate with sales on matters related to contract pricing & account management
- Administration and Policy
· Develop, maintain, and enforce divisional Sales & Operations policy handbook
· Manage the organization and maintenance of essential company files & forms
· Assist in planning and executing marketing-related events
Key Working Relationships:
The successful candidate will report to the General Manager in Norridge, Illinois. The individual will work closely with other leadership in accounting, sales, and warehousing.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, operations, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in operations, supply chain, inventory management, or a similar field
- At least 3 years of direct supervisory or managerial experience overseeing teams across multiple functional areas
- Demonstrated experience in a role requiring cross-functional collaboration between sales, finance, and operations.
- Expert knowledge & experience of inventory control methodologies
- Proven proficiency in ERP or Inventory management systems for purchasing, PO management, sales, and inventory tracking
- Strong understanding of warehouse logistics, receiving, shipping, and fulfillment process
- Familiarity with basic facility management and maintenance scheduling/coordination
- Excellent proficiency of Microsoft Suite products
- Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to train, mentor, and manage supervisors and front-line staff
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Analytical and problem solving skills
- Demonstrate the ability to develop and enforce operational policies and procedures
- High degree of organizational ability with a strong attention to detail
