ICS was strategically designed in 2002 to bring together refugee, immigrant and local children in an academically challenging and nurturing environment. Today, the school serves 500 students annually representing more than 60 nationalities and speaking 31 languages. As Assistant Principal, you will play a key role in advancing ICS’s mission by partnering with the Principal to lead daily school operations, support high-quality teaching and learning, and ensure a safe, supportive environment where every student thrives. Key responsibilities include:
- Instructional Leadership & Data: Ensures rigorous, developmentally responsive, data-informed instruction that results in meaningful academic growth for all students.
- Testing & Accountability: Ensures accurate and compliant administration of assessments.
- Operations & Logistics: Ensures smooth, safe, and efficient day-to-day operations.
- Student Support & Discipline: Promotes a safe, restorative, developmentally responsive environment that supports student success.
- Climate & Culture: Builds a positive, inclusive, IB-aligned school culture.
- Family & Staff Engagement: Strengthens family-school partnerships and supports professional collaboration.
- Schoolwide Leadership: Provides collaborative leadership to ensure schoolwide consistency, aligned systems, and unified implementation of ICS priorities.
- Staff Supervision & Accountability: Supports professional growth through coaching, clear expectations, and consistent follow-through aligned with ICS standards.
- Other Duties: Performs additional responsibilities necessary to support school operations, student success, and the overall mission of ICS.
Are you the one?
We are seeking a strong, enthusiastic Assistant Principal with a passion for building relationships and partnering with students, staff, and families to support a thriving school community. To be minimally qualified, you must have:
- Master’s Degree in Education from an accredited institution
- Valid Georgia Educational Tier 1 Leadership Certificate
- Minimum of three (3) years classroom experience
- Experience with testing systems, data tools, and Infinite Campus
The following experience is preferred:
- Experience teaching or coaching grades K-5. and 6-8
- IB PYP experience or willingness to complete training
- Experience in multilingual, multicultural school communities
- Charter or mission-aligned leadership experience
