As a Teacher Assistant / Paraprofessional, you will play a key role in advancing ICS’s mission by creating a joyful, structured classroom where every student feels known, supported, and challenged. You will deliver high quality instruction, build strong relationships with students and families, and collaborate closely with grade level teammates and school leaders to ensure a safe, inclusive learning environment where every student thrives. Key responsibilities include:

Instructional & Classroom Support

• Provide small group and individualized instruction under the guidance of teachers and/or special education staff.
• Assist with assessment practices, including administering, organizing, and recording classroom-based and standardized assessments.
• Prepare, organize, and manage instructional materials to ensure readiness for lessons and interventions.
• Implement accommodations and modifications as outlined in Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).

Student Engagement & Behavior Support

• Support classroom and schoolwide management strategies to promote a safe and inclusive learning environment.
• Supervise students in both classroom and non-classroom settings (e.g., recess, lunch, transitions, arrival/dismissal, field trips, and duty coverage).
• Encourage positive student interactions and model respectful behavior aligned with ICS’s values and IB learner profile.

School & Community Collaboration

• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to meet diverse learning and behavioral needs.
• Support the development of a multicultural and inclusive learning community that emphasizes respect, equity, and global awareness.
• Participate in staff meetings, professional learning, and other school activities as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support students and the school community.

We are seeking a strong, enthusiastic Teacher Assistant / Paraprofessional with a passion for building relationships and partnering with students, staff, and families to support a thriving school community. To be minimally qualified, you must have:

• High school diploma/GED
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with both children and adults.
• Ability to follow directions, take initiative, and collaborate effectively with staff.
• Commitment to supporting the mission of ICS, the IBPYP, and students with disabilities.

The following experience is preferred:

• Passing score on the Georgia Assessments for the Certification of Educators (GACE) Paraprofessional Assessment.
• Prior experience supporting elementary-aged students, including those with disabilities, in an instructional or classroom setting.
• Experience in an IBPYP or inquiry-based learning environment.
• Multilingual abilities and/or experience in a culturally and linguistically diverse community.
