GENERAL SUMMARY Responsible for the installation and maintenance of mechanical equipment and associated tooling for a large nuclear generating plant. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES Install, troubleshoot, disassemble, inspect, repair, and test rotating equipment such as pumps, fans and gearboxes. Install, troubleshoot, disassemble, inspect, repair, and test valves, piping, valve operators, tanks, etc. Perform rigging duties and crane operation. Perform specialized maintenance tasks including: welding, machining, HVAC maintenance, reactor vessel maintenance, specialized valve and valve operator maintenance, specialized rotating equipment maintenance, diesel engine maintenance, and fire protection maintenance. Decontaminate, clean, and overhaul contaminated tools and equipment. Perform other tasks as required. REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE A high school diploma or GED is required. Journeyman classification requires four years of applicable experience achieved through: (1) successful completion of a 4-year apprenticeship; OR (2) 2-year trade school or equivalent military training plus three years of applicable experience; OR (3) an Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university in the mechanical field plus three years of applicable experience. Experience is applicable if it has been in the maintenance of equipment such as pumps, valves, engines, or HVAC units normally associated with power generating facilities. Must be able to provide documentation of apprenticeship, trade school, experience, and training. This is a bargaining unit position and the hourly pay rate is: $59.52 Incentive Compensation This role is eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan. Incentives are earned based on employee performance against defined metrics and company goals.
