An AmLaw 100, nationally recognised litigation firm is seeking a Medical Malpractice/Nursing Home Defense Attorney to join its White Plains or New York City office. This role offers the opportunity to handle sophisticated healthcare defense litigation within a collaborative national platform known for its strong trial capabilities, supportive culture, and long-term career development.
Responsibilities:
- Independently manage a caseload of medical malpractice and nursing home defense matters
- Handle all phases of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, motions, depositions, and court appearances
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through strategic legal counsel and regular communication
- Draft and review complex litigation documents, including pleadings, motions, and settlement agreements
- Collaborate with partners and colleagues on case strategy and complex legal matters
Qualifications:
- JD and admission to the New York Bar
- 5 years of defense litigation experience, with a focus on medical malpractice and nursing home matters
- Strong deposition, motion practice, and case management experience
- Excellent written, oral advocacy, and analytical skills
- Trial experience and knowledge of healthcare regulations are advantageous
