We are seeking an Insurance Coverage / Insurance Litigation Associate to join a top-tier defense litigation law firm in Seattle. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced attorney to work on sophisticated insurance coverage and litigation matters in a collaborative, collegial environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, legal memoranda, and other legal documents.
- Handle all aspects of litigation, including discovery, depositions, mediations, and court appearances.
- Investigate insurance claims and prepare comprehensive coverage opinion letters.
- Provide strategic insurance coverage advice across a variety of insurance lines.
- Collaborate with colleagues across multiple offices to deliver exceptional client service.
- Maintain regular communication with clients, providing updates and practical analysis of case developments.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Active Washington Bar membership.
- Minimum of 5 years of defense litigation experience, with 3 years of insurance coverage and coverage litigation experience preferred.
- Experience drafting insurance coverage opinions and handling first-party and/or third-party claims.
- Strong coverage analysis, legal writing, and research skills.
- Experience drafting discovery and pretrial motions.
- Deposition, mediation, and courtroom experience preferred; trial experience is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple matters effectively in a fast-paced environment while delivering outstanding client service.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Salary Range: $150,000 – $200,000, depending on qualifications, experience, skills, and other relevant factors.
