About the Role:
As a Radiology Technologist, you will play a critical role in the healthcare team by performing diagnostic imaging examinations that assist physicians in diagnosing and treating medical conditions. You will operate sophisticated radiographic equipment to capture high-quality images of patients’ internal structures, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the process. Your expertise will contribute to accurate and timely diagnoses, directly impacting patient care outcomes. You will collaborate closely with radiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to maintain efficient workflow and uphold the highest standards of imaging quality. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining imaging equipment, adhering to radiation safety protocols, and documenting procedures accurately in compliance with regulatory requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program (AS Degree).
- Certification and registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or equivalent.
- Valid state licensure to practice as a Radiology Technologist in the United States.
- Strong understanding of radiographic procedures, anatomy, and radiation safety principles.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with advanced imaging modalities such as Dexa.
- Additional certifications in specialized imaging techniques or modalities.
- Familiarity with Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) and electronic health records (EHR).
- Prior experience working in a hospital or clinical setting.
- Continuing education or professional development courses related to radiologic technology.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and position patients correctly for radiographic imaging procedures, explaining the process to ensure patient understanding and cooperation.
- Operate and adjust radiographic equipment to capture clear and precise diagnostic images while minimizing radiation exposure.
- Review images for quality and completeness, and communicate any issues or abnormalities to the radiologist promptly.
- Maintain detailed patient records and imaging logs in accordance with healthcare regulations and privacy standards.
- Perform routine maintenance and quality control checks on imaging equipment to ensure optimal functionality and safety.
- Adhere strictly to radiation safety guidelines to protect patients, staff, and self from unnecessary exposure.
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to coordinate patient care and support diagnostic and treatment planning.
Skills:
The required skills enable the Radiology Technologist to perform precise imaging procedures while ensuring patient safety and comfort. Strong technical skills are essential for operating and troubleshooting complex radiographic equipment and software daily. Communication skills are used to explain procedures to patients clearly and to collaborate effectively with radiologists and other healthcare team members. Attention to detail is critical when reviewing images for quality and documenting patient information accurately.
