We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer with strong experience in Body and Chassis design within the automotive or commercial vehicle domain. This role requires hands-on expertise in Siemens NX and a solid understanding of structural design and manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop body/chassis components and structural systems
- Create 3D models, assemblies, and 2D drawings using Siemens NX
- Perform design calculations and support structural validation (FEA preferred)
- Apply DFM, DFA, DFMEA, and PFMEA methodologies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (manufacturing, quality, suppliers)
- Support prototype builds, testing, and production launches
- Ensure designs meet quality, safety, and manufacturability standards
Required Skills & Experience
- 5 years of experience in automotive / truck / trailer / heavy vehicle design
- Strong expertise in Body/Chassis engineering
- Hands-on experience with Siemens NX
- Knowledge of sheet metal, welded assemblies, and structural components
- Experience with DFMEA, PFMEA, DFA, DFM
- Understanding of manufacturing processes (stamping, welding, fabrication)
- Exposure to FEA tools (preferred)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in commercial vehicles or trailer design
- Familiarity with PLM tools (Teamcenter)
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Salary : $80,000 - $85,000
