Associate Scientist II -- St. Paul, MN
Role: Associate Scientist II
Location: St. Paul, MN - 55117
Duration: 12 Months
The Scientist will support materials science activities for medical device projects, with a focus on polymer materials characterization. This role requires hands-on laboratory experience using analytical techniques such as DSC, TGA, FTIR, and SEM in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform polymer materials characterization using DSC, TGA, FTIR, and related techniques
- Conduct hands-on laboratory testing and analysis to support project teams
- Partner with scientists and cross-functional teams to develop test plans
- Analyze data, interpret results, and prepare technical reports
- Document experimental work in an electronic notebook system in compliance with GMP requirements
- Maintain strong attention to detail while managing multiple priorities
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, or a related field
- 1–3 years of experience in materials or polymer characterization
- Hands-on experience operating analytical instrumentation
- Experience documenting laboratory work in electronic or paper notebooks under GMP guidelines
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment with changing priorities
Preferred
- Experience with polymer structure–property relationships
- Familiarity with Trios, OMNIC, and LabVantage ELN systems
Working Conditions
- Laboratory-based role requiring standing and/or sitting
- Use of appropriate PPE while working with laboratory chemicals and biological materials
