Job Title: EHS Engineer
Location: Lexington, KY 40511 (Onsite)
Shift: 2nd Shift | 2:30/3:30 PM – 11:00 PM EST
Schedule Flexibility: Preferred 4x10-hour shifts (alternative schedules considered)
Pay Rate: $28.84 – $38.46/hour (W2, no benefits) based on experience
Duration: 6 months (strong potential for temp-to-hire)

We are seeking a hands-on Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Engineer to support a large-scale manufacturing and assembly facility in Lexington, KY. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced safety professional who thrives in a fast-paced, industrial environment and enjoys working directly on the plant floor.
About the Role:
This role supports a full manufacturing assembly plant producing large equipment and utilizing CNC machinery, heavy fabrication, robotics, and automated systems. The EHS Engineer will partner with cross-functional teams across the facility to ensure compliance, safety excellence, and continuous improvement—particularly during 2nd shift operations with limited leadership presence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and support EHS policies, procedures, and site-specific programs.
- Conduct safety training aligned with regulatory and corporate initiatives.
- Lead incident and accident investigations, including root cause analysis.
- Perform EHS audits, risk assessments, and compliance reviews.
- Coordinate corrective actions from audits and assessments with site teams.
- Support environmental permitting (air, water, waste) and compliance efforts.
- Serve as the primary EHS contact for government or regulatory inquiries.
- Partner with facilities and maintenance teams on fire and life safety controls.
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in EHS, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of EHS or Safety Engineering experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Strong background in ergonomics, machinery safety, and LOTO.
- Experience in large equipment manufacturing, CNC, or heavy fabrication environments.
- Knowledge of ISO environmental standards and regulatory compliance.
- Ability to work independently, think quickly, and communicate effectively across all departments.
- Comfortable working in a union manufacturing environment (plus).
