Title: Controls Engineer
Location: 100% onsite – Lincoln, NE
Duration: 12 months (Contract only – not temp-to-hire)
Key Responsibilities:
- Integrate & deliver digital/connected equipment from manufacturing.
- Bridge legacy and modern systems using data manipulation and comm protocols.
- Prepare gateway devices for upstream/downstream communication.
- Lead digital manufacturing assessments.
- Implement Industry 4.0 and Smart Factory solutions.
- Conduct testing of QR code traceability.
- Engage in project management and stakeholder communication.
- Use Schneider Performance System (SPS) methods for continuous improvement.
- Collaborate on HMI, SCADA, and vision systems integration (Cognex, Keyence).
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's in Engineering/Computer Science/Software.
- 3 years in manufacturing and industrial automation.
- Proficiency in PLCs (Unity, SoMachine, ProWORX), HMI design, OPC UA.
- Strong command of protocols: Modbus, CAN, Ethernet/IP.
- SQL databases & HTTP protocol understanding.
- Familiar with CAD/CAM and circuit design (analog/digital).
- Strong communication; able to work in multicultural teams.
- Experience with gateways, routers, wireless devices, cloud integration.
