Benefits Administrative Assistant

About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Benefits Administrative Assistant to support our healthcare client in Phoenix, AZ. This role is ideal for candidates with administrative experience and a strong understanding of government benefit programs, public assistance processes, and case management support. The successful candidate will play a critical role in managing sensitive documentation and ensuring the timely processing of benefit-related tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and complete Social Security Overpayment Waivers.
- Process Representative Payee applications accurately and efficiently.
- Prepare and submit Social Security address changes.
- Scan, sort, and index incoming mail and related documentation.
- Review and approve medical invoices.
- Attend and participate in intake staffing meetings to support client service coordination.
- Perform additional administrative duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of government programs, benefits, and entitlements.
- Understanding of administrative processes related to public assistance and case management.
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and time management skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and document management systems.
- Minimum of 1 year of administrative experience, preferably in healthcare, government, or social services environments.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Preferred Skills
- Experience working with Social Security-related processes and documentation.
- Background supporting case management or public assistance programs.
- Familiarity with scanning, indexing, and records management systems.
