Key Responsibilities
- Support and lead planning, organizing, directing, and coordinating project activities
- Manage project lifecycle phases: initiation, planning, execution, monitoring/control, and closeout
- Act on behalf of the Lead Project Manager when required
- Develop and manage project plans, schedules, budgets, resources, and tools
- Communicate project status, risks, and updates through meetings, reports, and presentations
- Foster strong relationships with internal teams, contractors, vendors, and stakeholders
- Promote and enforce a Zero Harm safety culture aligned with system safety processes
- Drive continuous improvement in quality, delivery, and cost efficiency
- Assist with procurement planning, RFP development, bid evaluation, and contract management
- Ensure vendor performance aligns with contract requirements
- Support project closeout, including performance evaluation and benefits realization
- Coach and mentor team members in project management practices
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Project Management, or related field 3 years of relevant experience, OR
- Associate’s degree in a related field 5 years of relevant experience
- Project management experience in utility, power systems, or major construction
- Experience in outage management, construction operations, estimating, project controls, or engineering
- Strong understanding of construction safety, scope management, cost estimating, and contracting
- PMP Certification
- Knowledge of Primavera P6 and PMBOK principles
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong leadership and team collaboration abilities
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders in a matrix environment
- Strategic thinking, risk assessment, and problem-solving capabilities
- Valid state driver’s license required
- Ability to travel approximately 25% (may vary depending on project needs)
- Ability to work onsite full-time (5 days/week)
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage deliverables, and provide constructive feedback
- Progressively take on lead PM responsibilities based on performance and experience
- Apply economic and risk analysis to optimize project outcomes
- Gain hands-on experience across engineering, procurement, construction, and startup phases
- Develop expertise in contract management, scope control, and project governance standards
