We are assisting a reputable company in their search for a talented professional to fill a key role in their operations technology team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the manufacturing network to ensure optimal performance, security, and reliability across all connected devices.
- Lead the design, engineering, and implementation of the Manufacturing Network to support operations at a new site.
- Oversee software and hardware on manufacturing systems site-wide.
- Act as a liaison between IT/IS and the controls engineering team.
- Collaborate with the controls engineering team to implement IT/IS policies and procedures on the manufacturing systems.
- Assist the controls group with IT/IS needs on the manufacturing systems.
- Manage user accounts on the manufacturing networks and serve as the Active Directory System administrator for manufacturing.
- Oversee backups of systems on the manufacturing network.
- Manage Network IP addresses on manufacturing systems.
- Handle Windows, anti-virus, and software updates on manufacturing systems.
- Manage HA Virtual Server Clusters on manufacturing systems.
- Maintain an asset inventory of all devices on the manufacturing system.
- Configure and troubleshoot issues with network switches and routers on the manufacturing systems.
- Manage obsolescence and upgrade plans for devices in the manufacturing network.
- Assist in troubleshooting communication issues between manufacturing systems and IT systems.
- Monitor the network using tools like Portnox and CyberX to ensure there are no security issues.
- Provide vendor access to manufacturing systems during vendor visits for work purposes.
- Assist in network design and changes to meet the company's needs.
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 3 years in IT System Administration, including Windows Active Directory system management, managing Dell virtual server clusters, network switches, and Windows update servers.
- Ability to travel to consultant engineering offices, vendors, and expansion sites, with approximately 25% travel expected.
- Working knowledge of information security-related technologies and products.
- Good understanding of industrial control networks and security.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
