Title: Global Pathology Quality Control Scientist
Location: Groton-CT (HYBRID)
Duration: 9 months
Position Summary:
- The Global Pathology Quality Control Scientist independently performs quality control (QC) reviews of anatomic and/or clinical pathology data, specimens, and reports for GLP and non-GLP studies.
- This role supports candidate selection, first-in-human studies, early research, Client safety, and investigative pathology work through accurate and compliant pathology data review.
Key Responsibilities
Perform regulatory responsibilities in compliance with:
- Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)
- Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) standards
- Animal welfare regulations
- Departmental policies and procedures
- Independently conduct QC reviews of:
- Anatomic pathology data
- Clinical pathology data
- Specimens and reports
- Ensure adherence to study reporting timelines
- Support data integrity QC for DSRD publications
- Assist with pathology scheduling activities as needed
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology or a related scientific field
- 5–7 years of relevant industry experience
Technical Skills
Knowledge of one or more relevant disciplines:
- Necropsy
- Histology
- Clinical pathology
- Animal science
- Minimum 5 years of experience working in a GLP-regulated environment
- Minimum 5 years of quality control experience in pathology or related scientific operations
Reporting & Collaboration
- Reports to the DSRD Pathology QC & Strategic Planning Lead
Collaborates with:
- Pathologists (anatomic and clinical)
- Laboratory managers
- Pathology scientists and technicians
- Clinical pathology scientists
- Global pathology slide scanning teams
- Works cross-functionally with DSRD teams and research units based on project needs
Salary : $54 - $58
