Duties
- Greet patients warmly and professionally, creating a positive first impression
- Schedule appointments using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as ChiroTouch
- Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance eligibility verification to facilitate billing processes
- Manage patient check-in and check-out procedures efficiently, ensuring accuracy in documentation review and data entry
- Handle multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette, directing calls appropriately and taking detailed messages when necessary
- Maintain accurate medical records, including filing, scanning, and updating patient information in ChiroTouch
- Assist with medical billing and collection processes, including CPT coding, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding, and Medicare claims submission
- Support clinical staff by preparing care plans documentation and reviewing patient intake forms
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient confidentiality at all times
- Perform general clerical duties such as typing reports, managing filing systems, and maintaining office supplies
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar medical office administrative support role
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), CPT coding, and medical billing procedures
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as ChiroTouch
- Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and office management software
- Ability to handle sensitive health information in accordance with HIPAA regulations with integrity and discretion
- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations; bilingual abilities are a plus
- Prior clinic or rehab office experience is highly desirable; experience with dental terminology or hospital settings is advantageous
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for documentation review and appointment management
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and positive attitude
