Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and assist with check-in and check-out procedures using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
- Obtain and record patient vital signs, medical histories, and current symptoms accurately to facilitate effective care.
- Prepare patients for examinations by taking detailed histories, explaining procedures, and ensuring comfort throughout their visit.
- Assist healthcare providers with clinical tasks such as administering medications, collecting specimens, performing basic X-ray imaging, and supporting procedures in outpatient or inpatient settings.
- Manage appointment scheduling, coordinate follow-up visits, and handle patient inquiries with professionalism and enthusiasm.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient encounters, ICD coding (International Classification of Diseases), and other medical records to ensure compliance and seamless record keeping.
- Support hospital medicine units or specialty clinics such as dermatology, geriatrics, or internal medicine by assisting with intake processes and vital sign monitoring in various clinical environments.
Experience
As medical assistant with receptionist experience, the candidate should have knowledge of medical terminology, understanding of medication, skills assisting doctor in minor in-office procedures, ability to assist the team in providing a professional and caring environment. Experience with EHR systems and ICD coding will ensure accurate documentation. Previous clinic experience in dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, or medical-surgical units is highly valued.
