What are the responsibilities and job description for the Master Scheduler/Planner position at Integrated Packaging Machinery?
The Master Scheduler is the technical engine behind the Planning team. This role builds, configures, and maintains schedule data in EPICOR and related planning tools, ensuring a clean, accurate, and current single source of truth. The Master Scheduler analyzes capacity and constraint data, develops custom reports and dashboards, and implements approved schedule changes.
Essential Job Functions:
- Configure and maintain EPICOR scheduling master data.
- Apply approved changes to jobs/projects, milestones, WBS tasks, and due dates.
- Prepare pre-lock schedules for review; implement post-lock changes via the formal change-request process with auditable history.
- Review and release jobs aligned to Planning standards.
- Coordinate schedule cutovers and ensure schedule artifacts are published on time and version-controlled.
- Build and maintain BAQs, Dashboards, and SSRS/Power BI reports
- Provide bi-weekly “schedule health” updates and ad-hoc analysis to support options, scenarios, and recommendations.
- Track and publish metrics related to workload forecasting, resource capacity, schedule health, and change variance.
- Represent “the schedule” in production, forecasting, and resource planning meetings; capture decisions, assumptions, and required changes.
- Work closely with purchasing to integrate part constraints with projects milestones.
- Publish a single source of truth for schedules and communicate updates clearly before and after lock.
- Maintain SOPs, standard work, and quick-reference guides for scheduling processes.
- Maintain naming conventions and scheduling structures for repeatability.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years in ERP-based scheduling, project planning, or production control (EPICOR preferred).
- Demonstrated proficiency with EPICOR BAQs, Dashboards, SSRS, and advanced Excel (Power Query, Pivots).
- Working knowledge of APS/MRP, capacity planning, routings, and resource modeling.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills with a bias for data integrity and follow-through.
- Experience in capital equipment integration, industrial automation, or systems-based manufacturing (preferred).
- Power BI and SQL familiarity
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelors preferred or related field

Professional Certifications:
- Certified Planning Engineer (preferred)
- CPIM, PMP, or similar certification (preferred)
