GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
MORES is a team-based crisis intervention for children and adolescents ages 3 to 21 years experiencing escalating emotional and/or behavioral needs. MORES provides up to eight weeks of follow-up services for individuals who have experienced a behavioral health crisis. The goal of the MORES program is to stabilize the present concern, empower and educate families to monitor, manage and cope with similar situations in the future, establish and build resiliency skills and strengthen the natural support systems of youth and families.
The MORES Team Lead manages and supervises the MORES team, ensuring MORES implementation follows the full MORES Scope of Work and Service Definitions. The MORES team works closely with the Mobile Crisis Response Team for referrals. The Team Lead provides compassionate, high-quality mental health and crisis intervention services in Pitt County. The MORES Team Lead oversees staff training, ensures compliance with MORES Scope of Work and all local, state, and federal guidance, conducts crisis assessments, and collaborates with community agencies. This role provides both administrative and clinical leadership, ensuring effective service delivery. Team Leads typically spend at least 60% (percentage will vary depending on team structure) of their time supporting staff, clients, and outreach, which usually occurs in the field, community, or from home. The remaining time consists of administrative responsibilities, which can be completed remotely or in-office as needed.
WORK DUTIES AND TASKS:
Work closely with MORES Program Manager (external entity) to ensure successful MORES onboarding, implementation and continued support.
Hire, train, supervise and evaluate the team's performance in all aspects of their position descriptions and performance goals, including field visits and coaching.
Define and manage the process for obtaining and managing clients into MORES. Includes assessing staff case load and capacity, defining agency priorities and ensuring proper discharge procedures.
Schedule and manage MORES team meetings at least weekly to review cases, coordinate contacts, discuss barriers, and monitor adherence to MORES principles and program protocols.
Ensure staff meet all training and documentation requirements.
Collaborate, educate and build relationships with law enforcement, DSS, schools, hospitals, LME/MCOs, county collaboratives, and other community contacts.
Maintain up-to-date inventory of available community resources, services and contacts.
Develop, implement, monitor supervision plan at least monthly. Update as needed but at least annually.
Provide crisis response and follow up to clients and families as needed to support the MORES team capacity.
Conduct clinical assessments and crisis interventions.
Review and ensure Medicaid-compliant documentation.
Provide on-call clinical supervision on a rotating basis.
Ensure compliance with state, federal, and Integrated Family Services PLLC policies.
Perform other duties as required by circumstances
SCHEDULE:
Full-time Monday-Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
An individual who holds a license, provisional license, certificate, registration or permit issued by the governing board regulating a human service profession, except a registered nurse who is licensed to practice in the State of North Carolina by the North Carolina Board of Nursing who also has four years of full-time accumulated experience in mh/dd/sa with the population served; (preferred); or
A graduate of a college or university with a Master's degree in a human service field and has one year of full time, post graduate degree accumulated mh/dd/sa experience with the population served, or a substance abuse professional who has one year of full time, post graduate degree accumulated supervised experience in alcoholism and drug abuse counseling, and satisfies the requirements for a Qualified Professional (QP) in the state of North Carolina.
A graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree in a human service related field and has two years of full time, post bachelor's degree accumulated mh/dd/sa experience with the population served, or a substance abuse professional who has two years of full time, post-bachelor's degree accumulated supervised experience in alcoholism and drug abuse counseling; or
A graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree in a field other than human services and has four years of full time, post bachelor's degree accumulated mh/dd/sa experience with the population served, or a substance abuse professional who has four years of full time, post-bachelor's degree accumulated supervised experience in alcoholism and drug abuse counseling.
A minimum of one year's experience in providing crisis management services in the following settings: assertive outreach, assertive community treatment, emergency department, or other services providing 24/7 response in emergent or urgent situations AND twenty (20) hours of training in appropriate crisis intervention strategies within the first 90 days of employment.
One year of supervisory experience in a mental health and/or substance abuse setting.
Complete the Mobile Crisis and MORES Training Curriculum within the first 90 days of employment.
Basic Microsoft Office suite experience and skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams platforms.
No criminal convictions of child abuse or violent crimes.
Must be able to pass a criminal background and motor vehicle check.
Must possess a valid driver's license.
Must be able to keep strict confidentiality and work with diverse populations.
