POSITION OVERVIEW: A short description of the general purpose of the position
The Production Coordinator plays a key role in supporting daily production operations by ensuring that materials, documentation, labor tracking, and workflow information move efficiently throughout the shop floor. This position serves as the operational connection between Production, Quality, Planning, Warehouse, and the Tool Room, helping ensure each unit progresses smoothly through every stage of the build.
The Production Coordinator is responsible for part ordering, count verification, RCL (Running Completion List) tracking, work order accuracy, production data collection, and progress updates. This role requires strong communication skills, exceptional organizational ability, and an unwavering attention to detail to maintain production accuracy and schedule adherence.
- Support daily production workflow by ensuring each work area has accurate work orders, drawings, BOMs, and required documentation prior to build start.
- Communicate delays, shortages, missing parts, or documentation issues to Production Management in real time.
- Order parts and materials as directed and verify quantities through RCL counts, incoming inspections, and BOM/work order validation.
- Organize and stage parts for upcoming units to support uninterrupted production flow.
- Create, update, audit, and distribute work orders and documentation; ensure employees are clocking into correct job codes and projects.
- Track unit progress and update job status daily in alignment with Production leadership.
- Maintain organized digital and physical records, including production logs, timekeeping entries, RCL sheets, part counts, and Quality checklists.
- Collect and compile production data such as labor hours, material usage, cycle times, and progress updates; identify and escalate discrepancies.
- Support daily, weekly, and monthly production reporting for supervisors and management.
- Serve as the communication link between Production, Quality, Planning, Warehouse, and the Tool Room.
- Provide Quality with required documentation for inspections and coordinate routing, tool assignments, and staging priorities.
- Maintain confidentiality of production data, timekeeping information, and business-sensitive project details.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities and assist with special projects assigned by Production Management.
- Support a clean, safe, and organized production environment while adhering to company policies and procedures.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1–3 years of experience in a production, warehouse, or manufacturing support environment.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, SharePoint, and digital data entry systems.
- Ability to read and interpret BOMs, blueprints, drawings, and work orders.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple work orders simultaneously.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) required to support communication across production teams.
- Ability to lift 30–50 lbs. occasionally and work regularly on the production floor.
- Experience with ERP systems (CostPoint, SAP, Oracle, or similar) preferred.
- Experience with labor tracking, timekeeping, or production reporting tools is a plus.

WORK EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience in a manufacturing, production, warehouse, or industrial operations environment.
- Direct experience supporting shop-floor workflow, materials coordination, or production documentation.
- Experience reading and interpreting work orders, BOMs, drawings, and technical documents.
- Hands-on familiarity with labor tracking, timekeeping corrections, or production data entry.
- Proven experience working cross-functionally with operations, warehouse, planning, or quality teams.
EDUCATION
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Additional education (AA/AS or technical training) is preferred but not required.
- Must demonstrate strong competency in applied math, documentation accuracy, and basic technical understanding.
LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
- Manufacturing or logistics certifications (APICS, MSSC CPT, etc.)
SKILLS
- All must be met to qualify.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (filters, lookups, data entry accuracy).
