POSITION OVERVIEW:
Team Leaders are responsible for overseeing teams of employees and motivating them to complete their job duties effectively. They will know every aspect of the mechanical building process for projects they are responsible for and be capable of sharing that knowledge with team members.
The compensation range for this full-time position includes base pay and target performance incentive. This position has a target hourly compensation range of $30.00 - $34.00/hour. Base wages are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Interpret mechanical engineering drawings and communicate requirements to work teams.
Identify and report drawing discrepancies; support change control processes.
Troubleshoot mechanical and assembly issues to support production efficiency.
Manage work orders: track, assign, and monitor to align with the production schedule.
Plan and allocate resources based on work orders and project milestones.
Provide clear instructions and coaching to ensure cost, quality, and schedule targets are met.
Ensure accurate completion and documentation of work using QC checklists and ERP timesheets.
Report defective materials or conditions to supervisors promptly.
Promote and maintain a safe work environment; enforce safety practices and HSE policies (including Lock-out Tag-out).
Collaborate with Safety and Supervision to deliver safety and policy training.
Support employee development through coaching, training, and performance feedback.
Foster teamwork and a positive work culture within the department.
Oversee timely and quality material movement throughout the process.
Uphold company values and demonstrate integrity in all work interactions.
Ensure maintenance of a clean work environment.
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to establish effective methods and procedures for installation of mechanical components, equipment, and instruments.
Familiarity with mechanical assembly and measurement tools.
Ability to perform basic math.
Good command of the English language, both written and verbal is a requirement.
Experience in supervising the work of others and the ability to effectively coach and lead team members.
Practical experience in mechanical assembly.
Ability to manage people and make decisions. Knowledge of team leading practices and techniques.
Ability to effectively coordinate and oversee multiple work orders.
Commitment to the concept of continual improvement, effective quality management systems and safe work practices.
Understanding the production and work order process.
Knowledge of company policies and procedures.
Factory experience required.
Physical fitness and strength to lift 30-50 lbs. regularly.
Regularly required to stand, bend, crouch, and reach.
Excellent hand-eye coordination.
Excellent attention to detail with strong listening and communication skills.
Ability to motivate others to achieve a goal.
Lead by example to include demonstrates strong work ethic, can do attitude, great attendance, and excellent safety awareness.
