About the Role:

We are seeking an engineering-focused professional to support a Fortune 200 oil and gas client in Houston, TX. This role will support capital management planning and operational decision-making across multiple divisions, working closely with engineering, operations, and supply chain teams.

The Solutions Engineer will play a key role in evaluating operational needs, supporting capital planning initiatives, and facilitating coordination across engineering, supply chain, and field operations. The ideal candidate brings a strong engineering foundation, hands-on oil and gas experience, and a solid understanding of operational workflows and supply chain dynamics.

This position requires regular divisional travel (20%) to engage directly with operational teams and support planning and execution efforts in the field. The role is well-suited for someone who is comfortable working across office and field environments and can translate operational realities into actionable engineering and planning insights. This role does require up to 20% travel.

Responsibilities:

 Support capital management planning efforts by analyzing operational requirements, engineering

constraints, and supply chain considerations.

 Collaborate with operations, engineering, and supply chain teams to support planning, prioritization, and execution of capital projects.

 Evaluate operational workflows and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reliability, and cost effectiveness.

 Support coordination between divisional teams to ensure alignment on engineering priorities and capital initiatives.

 Participate in divisional and field meetings to gather operational input and support on-the-ground decision-making.

 Assist with tracking capital plans, engineering initiatives, and operational dependencies across divisions.

 Develop and maintain engineering, operational, and planning documentation.

 Provide analytical and engineering support to leadership for capital allocation and operational planning decisions.

Requirements:

 Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Petroleum, Mechanical, Chemical, or related discipline).

 Oil and gas industry experience required, with exposure to operational environments.

 Strong understanding of upstream or midstream operations and associated supply chain processes.

 Ability to work effectively with field personnel, engineers, and leadership across divisions.

 Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

 Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate operational needs into engineering and planning insights.

 Ability to work independently while collaborating across multiple teams.

 Willingness to travel regularly to divisional and field locations.

Preferred Qualifications:

 Experience supporting capital planning, budgeting, or capital project execution.

 Familiarity with operational supply chain processes, procurement, and logistics.

 Experience working in large, enterprise oil and gas organizations.

 Strong proficiency with Excel or engineering analysis tools; experience with enterprise planning systems is a plus.

If you are an engineering professional with a strong operational mindset and a passion for supporting capital planning and field execution in oil and gas, we encourage you to apply for this opportunity.
