Overview
We are seeking an experienced AMI 2.0 IT Project Manager to support a large-scale utility technology modernization initiative. This role will lead the Technology Integration (TI) workstream while managing financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and enterprise-level project coordination across technical and business teams. The ideal candidate will have strong project management experience within large utility or infrastructure programs and possess the ability to bridge technical and business operations in a fast-paced environment.
Job Description
- Lead end-to-end delivery of the Technology Integration (TI) workstream for AMI 2.0 program releases
- Prepare and manage financial estimates, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and reporting
- Maintain integrated project plans (IPP), schedules, resource plans, and work breakdown structures
- Coordinate project activities across technical and business teams to ensure alignment with milestones and deliverables
- Support solution analysis, design activities, and technical delivery coordination
- Track project scope against baseline requirements and support change control processes
- Document scope changes, assess impacts, and escalate risks/issues to leadership as needed
- Maintain documentation for audit, compliance, and financial tracking purposes
- Identify project risks and recommend corrective actions
- Support procurement activities, vendor management, and contract negotiations
- Deliver reporting dashboards and analytics using Excel and other reporting tools
- Communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Execute day-to-day project management responsibilities while supporting overall program delivery
Required Skills
- Broad IT infrastructure knowledge with the ability to understand enterprise-level technology delivery
- Strong project management experience supporting large, multi-workstream enterprise initiatives
- Experience managing project budgets, forecasts, financial estimates, and reporting
- Advanced Excel and analytical reporting experience
- Strong communication, problem-solving, risk management, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-visibility program environment
- Strong blend of business and technical knowledge
- Experience supporting system integrations and enterprise technology projects
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Information Technology, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of project management experience with financial planning and analysis responsibilities
Desired Skills
- Experience with AMI 1.0 or AMI 2.0 programs
- Utility industry experience including smart grid or grid modernization projects
- Experience with MDMS, head-end systems, OMS, SAP, or ADMS integrations
- PMP or CAPM certification
- Master’s degree in Finance, Business, or related discipline
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance within utility or IT environments
- Strong vendor management and IT contract negotiation experience
