Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments for patients with chronic pain, traumatic brain injury, and post traumatic stress disorder.
- Develop individualized nutrition care plans based on clinical needs, treatment goals, and evidence based practices.
- Provide individual nutrition counseling and facilitate group nutrition education sessions in person and through telehealth.
- Lead and supervise daily meal preparation for patient breakfast and lunch service.
- Conduct hands on cooking demonstrations and therapeutic meal preparation sessions with patients.
- Educate patients on healthy eating habits, meal planning, food preparation, and nutrition strategies that support recovery and overall wellness.
- Collaborate with physicians, psychologists, physical therapists, nurses, and other clinicians to provide coordinated, patient centered care.
- Maintain timely and accurate documentation of patient assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and outcomes within the electronic medical record system.
- Participate in interdisciplinary treatment planning and stay current with evidence based nutrition practices.
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Food Science, Public Health, or a related field.
- Strong background in clinical nutrition and nutrition counseling.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English.
- Excellent communication and patient education skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Comfortable learning and using electronic medical record systems.
- Master's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Public Health, or related field.
- Registered Dietitian Nutritionist credential.
- Experience working in a clinical, rehabilitation, behavioral health, or multidisciplinary healthcare setting.
- Culinary, food service, or kitchen leadership experience.
- Experience leading cooking demonstrations or therapeutic culinary programs.
- Familiarity with telehealth platforms.
- Passionate about improving patient outcomes through nutrition.
- Enjoys educating and empowering patients to make sustainable lifestyle changes.
- Works well in a collaborative healthcare environment.
- Comfortable leading both clinical nutrition counseling and hands on culinary activities.
