What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dance Instructor and Choreographer for Dancers Ages 5-7 position at Inspire Dance Company LLC?
Inspire Dance Company is seeking a warm, experienced, and imaginative dance educator to lead our ballet, tap, and jazz combo classes for ages 5-7. We’re looking for someone who understands that teaching our youngest dancers is both a joy and a responsibility—laying the foundation for a lifelong love of movement, confidence, and creativity.
The ideal candidate:
- Has strong classroom management skills.
- Has experience teaching dance to preschool and/or early elementary-aged children in a structured class setting.
- Understands child development and can keep young dancers engaged with a balance of fun, structure, and learning.
- Uses age-appropriate curriculum that introduces foundational technique while supporting motor skills, listening, social-emotional growth, and imaginative play.
- Communicates clearly, checks and responds to emails promptly, and takes direction from the studio director with professionalism.
- Is patient, dependable, and passionate about nurturing the whole child—not just as a dancer, but as a person.
- Is open to collaboration and takes direction well from the studio director to ensure consistency across our early childhood programs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2 years teaching previous experience teaching this age group in a dance studio setting
- Background in creative movement, ballet, tap, and jazz
- Extensive experience working with kids
- Weekday afternoon or weekend morning availability
