Junior Implementation Engineer – Hybrid

We are expanding our team with an experienced Junior Implementation Engineer to handle field installation and support for network servers, SAN, data/voice infrastructure, virtualization, and security solutions. Additionally, the role includes working in our Network Operations Center to configure and monitor security solutions, provide remote support and administration, deploy and support virtual servers within our cloud services (IaaS), and assist with solution design and project management. The position also requires participation in a rotating emergency on-call schedule. Compensation is based on experience and certifications, with opportunities for career growth, ongoing professional development, and access to training and certifications. This role is based at our corporate headquarters in Cedar Knolls, NJ, with travel to client sites in the NJ/NY metro area (using a company car), as well as work from the office and/or remotely from home.

You should possess strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, along with extensive hands-on experience in the design, installation, configuration, support, and administration of LAN, WAN, and security systems. In addition, expertise in Microsoft Server and Desktop platforms and VMware virtualization is essential. The ideal candidate will also be an excellent communicator, capable of effectively engaging clients and team members on projects and support requirements.

To be successful, you should have:

• 2 years of hands-on experience in an MSP environment supporting Windows Server (Active Directory, Group Policy, DFS), Microsoft 365 (Exchange, SharePoint, Teams), and endpoint management platforms such as Intune and MDM.
• Practical experience installing, configuring, and maintaining virtualization and cloud platforms, including VMware, Hyper-V, and Azure Virtual Machines, with the ability to optimize performance and resource utilization.
• Applied knowledge of LAN/WAN networking and security, including deployment and support of firewalls, switches, wireless access points, VPNs, and network monitoring and protection technologies.
• MCSA, Microsoft 365 Associate, or equivalent technical certification, along with disciplined problem analysis, troubleshooting, documentation, and time management practices.
• Proficient verbal and written communication skills, client-focused service mindset, ability to work independently and collaboratively, and willingness to travel to client sites within the NJ/NY metro area and participate in on-call rotations.

Our client prefers that top candidates have:

• Experience administering and supporting EMC Storage Area Networks (SAN) is a plus.
• Microsoft MCSE or advanced M365/Azure certifications strongly preferred.
• Security certifications preferred.
• Experience with Cisco DUO
• Experience with ConnectWise
• Experience with SonicWall Firewalls

What you’ll do as the Junior Implementation Engineer:

• Provide Level 2 technical support and troubleshooting for escalated infrastructure, network, cloud, and security issues, both remotely and onsite.
• Design, implement, and support network, server, storage, virtualization, and cloud solutions, including upgrades and optimization of existing environments.
• Deploy, manage, and secure cloud and SaaS platforms (e.g., Azure, Microsoft 365), backups, and disaster recovery solutions to ensure availability and data protection.
• Implement and maintain security controls, monitoring, and incident response processes to protect client and internal systems from threats and vulnerabilities.
• Contribute to project delivery and operational excellence through technical design, documentation, time tracking, and participation in an emergency on-call rotation.
