Project Manager - AI Governance & Policy

Position Overview
The PM will serve as the primary go-to person for all AI Governance initiatives working closely with the AI Governance Committee and cross functional teams (Legal, IT, HR, etc.) to evaluate, refine, and develop enterprise-wide AI policies and procedures. Strong AI governance frameworks acumen and the ability to manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneously is needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead evaluation of existing AI policies and controls, identifying gaps and areas requiring updates.
- Coordinate development and implementation of AI policies and procedures aligned with legal, ethical, and operational requirements.
- Maintain policy inventory, documentation standards, version control, and approval workflows.
- Translate legal, technical, and regulatory requirements into clear, actionable policy language.
- Serve as the primary liaison between Legal, IT, HR, the AI Governance Committee, and external auditors.
- Lead multiple AI governance projects, including planning, risk management, stakeholder communication, and status reporting.
- Coordinate audits, compliance reviews, and policy governance activities.
- Support the development of a scalable AI governance framework and performance metrics.
Required Qualifications
- 5 years of project management experience managing multiple cross-functional initiatives concurrently in a fast-paced matrixed environment.
- Strong understanding of AI governance, AI ethics frameworks, or AI policy development.
- Understanding of regulatory and compliance environments related to technology and data.
- Exceptional written, verbal communication and presentation skills for all audiences.
- Experience in driving alignment across diverse stakeholder groups and external clients/partners.
- High proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Jira, Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, Asana).
Preferred Qualifications
- PMP, CAPM, or equivalent project management certification.
- Familiarity with AI governance frameworks.
- Experience partnering with legal, compliance, or audit functions.
- Background in data privacy regulations and how they intersect with AI use
- Experience in a highly regulated industry.
- Exposure to enterprise AI platforms, tools, or AI product development lifecycles.
