Tax Senior Manager – High Net Worth Individuals
A well-established professional services firm is looking for a seasoned Tax Senior Manager to take a leadership role within its Private Client / High Net Worth practice. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior tax professional to own client relationships end-to-end, mentor a growing team, and guide affluent individuals and families through complex wealth planning decisions.
About the Role
You'll sit at the centre of the client relationship, taking full ownership of planning, delivery, and team leadership across a portfolio of high net worth individual and trust engagements. This role offers real autonomy, senior-level client exposure, and flexibility around how and when the work gets done.
What You'll Be Doing
- Oversee every aspect of the client and advisory relationship to support the wealth management goals of the client and their family ,covering planning, scheduling, projections, and billing
- Review and sign off on tax returns for individual and trust clients, checking for accuracy and surfacing tax-saving opportunities and areas of exposure ,including federal, international, state, and local filings, quarterly estimated payments and extensions, responses to tax notices, technical research, and client-facing memos
- Play an active role in estate planning and wealth transfer work
- Supervise and train junior staff and interns working across these engagements
- Take full ownership of the status of all assigned projects, ensuring client delivery dates and statutory filing deadlines are consistently met
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or Bar licence required
- 10 years of recent tax compliance experience; time spent in public accounting is preferred
- Strong experience with high net worth individuals, alongside S-corps, C-corps, partnerships, LLCs, trusts, and private foundations ,with a clear emphasis on the HNW space
- Advanced knowledge of fiduciary and estate tax planning and compliance
- Proven leadership experience within a team or organization
- Exposure to general accounting support is a plus, though not essential
- Willingness to travel regionally for client work (with occasional overnight stays), as well as for firm-wide training and events
- Flexible scheduling on offer around peak periods, including remote work options and the potential for reduced-hour arrangements
