Key Responsibilities
- Assist clients in accessing services via telephone and in person
- Assess clients and gather relevant social, emotional, and environmental information
- Engage clients in beneficial programs and activities
- Provide information, guidance, and emotional support to clients and their families
- Identify and respond to crisis situations, including providing crisis intervention
- Monitor and report signs of child abuse or neglect in accordance with state regulations
- Coordinate referrals to community agencies and support services
- Maintain accurate documentation, case notes, and reports
- Participate in training sessions, supervision, and team meetings
- Develop and implement individualized treatment and service plans
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field
- Experience working with populations affected by:
- Child abuse or neglect
- Domestic violence
- Mental health challenges
- Parental substance abuse
- Strong active-listening and communication skills
- Ability to remain calm, empathetic, and professional in stressful situations
- Sound judgment and decision-making skills related to social and healthcare services
- Knowledge of crisis intervention and treatment planning
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Comfortable using computers and electronic documentation systems
- Valid driver’s license
