Physical therapist assistant

Duties

• Assist licensed physiotherapists in implementing treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
• Support patients through therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and mobility activities.
• Monitor and document patient progress, reporting any concerns or changes to the supervising physiotherapist.
• Prepare treatment areas and ensure all equipment is sanitised and ready for use.
• Educate patients and their families on post-treatment exercises and home care routines.
• Maintain accurate records of patient sessions in accordance with healthcare regulations.
• Contribute to maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for patients and staff.

Requirements

• Proven experience working in hospital settings, preferably with paediatric or specialised patient groups such as pediatrics.
• Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to physiotherapy practice.
• Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach towards diverse patient populations.
• Relevant qualification as a Physical Therapist Assistant recognised within the UK healthcare system.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Good organisational skills with attention to detail in documentation and patient records.
• Flexibility to adapt to varying clinical environments and patient needs. Candidates with prior hospital experience, especially in paediatrics or patient care roles, will be highly regarded. A commitment to professional development and continuous learning is essential for success in this role.
