We're conducting a confidential search for a Financial Controller to join a new dairy beverage processing operation in Seward, Nebraska. The facility is being built now, but the business is backed by an established, successful dairy organization, giving you the chance to help build something new without the instability of a traditional startup.

What makes this opportunity different?

• You will join before production fully ramps, giving you time to understand the business and help establish strong accounting processes from the beginning.
• You will have meaningful ownership of manufacturing accounting, especially cost accounting, inventory accounting, month-end close, general ledger, reconciliations, and controls.
• You will work closely with the CFO, COO, Plant Manager, and ownership, providing accurate and timely information they can use to make decisions.
• NetSuite is already in place, and you will help strengthen reporting, accounting processes, and financial visibility as the operation grows.
• There is meaningful long-term growth potential as both the plant and branded-products side of the business expand.

What you will own

• Full-cycle accounting for the manufacturing operation
• Month-end close, general ledger, reconciliations, and accounting accuracy
• Manufacturing cost accounting, including standards, variances, labor/overhead, product cost, and related cost drivers
• Inventory accounting, including valuation, reconciliations, cycle counts/physical inventory, adjustments, reserves, and variance investigation
• Internal controls and disciplined accounting processes
• Management reporting that gives leadership the information they need accurately and on time
• Financial analysis that helps uncover cost savings, inefficiencies, margin opportunities, and better ways of doing business

The background we are looking for

• Strong manufacturing or plant accounting experience
• Deep hands-on cost accounting and inventory accounting expertise
• Solid ownership of month-end close, general ledger, reconciliations, and full-cycle accounting
• Ability to dig into the numbers, investigate variances, and explain what is driving results
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with senior leadership
• ERP experience; NetSuite is a strong plus but not required
• A hands-on, accountable mindset and interest in growing with the organization long term

Experience in food, beverage, dairy, CPG, ingredients, protein, agricultural processing, or another plant-based manufacturing environment can all be relevant. The depth of your manufacturing accounting experience matters more than the specific product being made.

Compensation & benefits

• Base salary approximately $130,000-$170,000, depending on experience
