Job Description
The Workers’ Compensation Claims Specialist manages workers’ compensation claims from start to finish, serving as the primary point of contact between injured employees, branch locations, insurance carriers, and medical providers. They maintain accurate claim records, monitor claim progress, and ensure compliance with workers’ compensation regulations across multiple states. On a daily basis, this individual coordinates with internal teams and external partners to facilitate timely claim resolutions, assists with OSHA recordkeeping, and supports accident investigations when workplace incidents occur. They also participate in claim review meetings with insurance brokers and carriers, helping identify trends and opportunities to improve claim outcomes and reduce risk.
Must Haves
- 2-3 years of workers’ compensation claims experience
- Experience managing claims from initiation through resolution
- Strong organization and communication skills
- Ability to communicate professionally with employees, branch managers, doctors, attorneys, and insurance carriers
- Strong Microsoft Office experience (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain detailed documentation
