Seeking a senior Wireless Technology Engineer to provide technical leadership for the design, development, testing, and deployment of next-generation wireless solutions across WiFi and mobile networks. This individual will lead end-to-end wireless initiatives, support product certifications, drive innovation, and partner with operations teams to enhance network performance and customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and deployment of complex wireless technology solutions supporting devices, access networks, transport, core infrastructure, and backend systems.
- Evaluate new product requirements and develop scalable wireless architectures and technical solutions.
- Test, validate, and certify wireless products including Small Cells, WiFi Access Points, Home/SMB Routers, Wireless Access Gateways (WAGs), and Controllers for production deployment.
- Partner with operations teams to troubleshoot and resolve WiFi and mobile network issues impacting customers or business operations.
- Develop and enhance tools, automation, and processes supporting wireless engineering, testing, certification, and product validation.
- Conduct lab evaluations and field trials to assess new technology capabilities and validate emerging wireless concepts.
- Drive innovation around advanced wireless technologies including WiFi 6/6E/7, 802.11ad/ay, mesh networking, ultra-wideband (UWB), and other next-generation connectivity solutions.
- Support initiatives focused on network security, virtualization, service enablement, and wireless performance optimization.
- Contribute to RFPs, RFIs, vendor evaluations, hardware/software selection, and contract negotiations.
- Review engineering designs, code, and test plans to ensure quality and operational readiness.
This position will be hybrid onsite 4 days a week in Denver, Colorado. Compensation ranges from $70-$72/hr based on experience.
Required Qualifications
- 7 years of experience in wireless technology engineering, development, and management supporting large MSOs, telecommunications providers, satellite operators, or major wireless vendors.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field required.
- Deep expertise in WiFi 5, WiFi 6, WiFi 7, 4G LTE, and IoT technologies, with familiarity supporting 5G environments.
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals including routing, switching, and network security.
- Hands-on experience with wireless access engineering, product certification, and network troubleshooting.
- Proficiency with network monitoring, diagnostics, and analytics tools such as Splunk, SQL databases, Plume, Scope, and similar platforms.
- Experience supporting CPE wireless gateways, router technologies, and product roadmaps.
- Ability to manage multiple technical initiatives simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with large-scale wireless access networks for major U.S. telecommunications or cable providers.
- Strong background in wireless performance optimization, customer experience (QoE), and emerging wireless technologies.
- Experience leading cross-functional engineering efforts and influencing technical strategy.
- MBA or advanced degree preferred.
