What are the responsibilities and job description for the User Experience Designer position at Insight Global?
Day to Day:
We are hiring a seasoned UX Designer to support a net‑new Pricing product suite made up of 100% custom‑built applications. This role partners closely with Product Management and Engineering to design complex systems that power pricing, margin analysis, and seller decision‑making.
This is a senior‑level role ideal for a designer who thrives in complex problem spaces and can turn vague inputs into clear, intuitive experiences.
Discovery & Understanding
- Partner with Product to clarify goals, constraints, and what success looks like for each feature
- Identify user types, primary tasks, pain points, and edge cases for pricing workflows
- Review existing tooling/screens and gather context from stakeholders, SMEs, and support teams
- Use available telemetry tools to validate user behavior and identify friction points
UX Definition & Design Execution
- Create user flows, journey maps, and information architecture for complex pricing tools
- Translate requirements into low-fidelity wireframes to align quickly on structure and approach
- Progress designs into high-fidelity UI aligned to the product’s patterns / component library
- Build interactive Figma prototypes to communicate intent and validate workflows early
- Define interaction patterns, states, and behaviors (empty states, error handling, loading states, validation, etc.)
Collaboration & Iteration
- Work in lockstep with Engineering so design and development stay aligned on feasibility and end-product expectations
- Participate in agile ceremonies (planning, refinement, standups) and provide UX input during story definition
- Present work in stakeholder reviews, incorporate feedback, and iterate quickly without losing UX integrity
- Collaborate across adjacent product teams to ensure end-to-end experiences are cohesive
Validation & Handoff
- Run lightweight usability checks or structured feedback sessions when needed (even if there isn’t a dedicated researcher)
- Ensure clean handoff to development (specs, annotations, prototypes, interaction details, assets)
- Support build through QA: validate UI matches intent, flag issues, and help refine based on what’s shipped
Design System / Consistency Leverage existing components and patterns to keep the experience consistent
- Contribute improvements to shared patterns when gaps are uncovered (documentation, component behavior, etc.)
Must-Have Qualifications
- 7 years UX Design experience with a proven portfolio for customer review
- Experience designing complex, custom-built (“home grown”) tools
- Strong ability to turn ambiguous requirements into structured UX solutions
- Expert Figma skills, especially prototyping and interaction modeling
- Experience with Miro and Lucid charts
- Comfortable designing data-heavy tools and dashboards
- Strong cross-functional communication (Product Engineering business stakeholders)
- Proven examples of designing workflows that span multiple systems/products
Nice-to-Haves
- Familiarity with user behavior analytics tools (ex: Pendo)
- Experience with pricing, finance, merchandising, or other decision-support tools
- Experience working within or improving a design system / component library
- Experience partnering with newer product managers and helping define product requirements through design
