Position Summary
The R&D Hardware Test Technician supports the testing, validation, troubleshooting, and improvement of pharmacy automation equipment and subsystems. This role is highly hands-on and involves prototype fabrication, test execution, failure analysis, and engineering support within an R&D environment.
Must-Have Qualifications
- Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Electronics, Mechanical Technology, Physics, or related technical field (equivalent experience considered)
- 5 years of experience in a test lab, reliability lab, manufacturing, or equipment testing environment
- Experience performing hardware verification and validation testing
- Ability to read and interpret:
- Mechanical drawings
- Electrical schematics
- Technical documentation
- Hands-on troubleshooting and repair of electro-mechanical systems
- Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency with hand/power tools
- Experience collecting, documenting, and reporting test data
- Knowledge of computer configuration and software deployment
- Experience building prototypes, test fixtures, wiring harnesses, or PCB assemblies
- Ability to perform failure analysis and root cause investigations
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Strong attention to detail
Preferred / Plus Skills
- Soldering experience (cables and PCB assemblies)
- Advanced Excel skills
- MiniTab or other statistical analysis software
- LabVIEW experience
- CAD experience for basic modeling or drawing updates
- Experience using machine tools for prototype fabrication
- Experience working in a 5S environment
- Pallet jack operation experience
Physical Requirements
- Frequent standing, sitting, bending, and movement throughout the lab
- Occasional stooping and kneeling
- Ability to lift up to 45 lbs. unassisted
Key Responsibilities
- Execute product and subsystem verification testing

- Maintain test lab equipment, inventory, and configurations
- Help keep test labs safe, organized, and operational
