Staff Accountant

Duration: 3 month contract, potential to extend

Location: Onsite Monday - Friday in Dublin, GA

Must Haves:

• 2 years experience in full cycle accounting
• Proven experience preparing and analyzing financial and accounting statements, general ledgers, journal entries, cash flow, reconciliation, month end and year end reporting
• Expert in Excel and comfortable working in manual environment
• Understands GAAP accounting standards and compliance
• Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, high attention to detail, and takes initiative

Plusses:

• Bachelor Degree in Finance/Accounting
• CPA Certification
• Prior accounting experience in the manufacturing industry

Day-to-Day:

Insight Global’s client is seeking a Staff Accountant for a contract opportunity in Dublin, GA. Our client is a global manufacturer of architectural products. In this role, the Staff Accountant will support key accounting functions, including account reconciliations, fixed assets, lease accounting, cash position, month-end close, and year-end audit activities. This individual will analyze financial and accounting data, identify trends or discrepancies, and communicate findings to management. The successful candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and a solid understanding of GAAP and internal controls.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze financial, accounting, and production data for monthly reporting and journal entries.
• Perform account reconciliations and ensure the accuracy of balance sheet accounts and supporting documentation.
• Manage month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Prepare financial statements, reports, special analyses, and other financial reporting.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP standards and established internal controls and accounting procedures.
• Analyze accounts for accruals and asset depreciation, and manage sales tax matters related to invoices.
• Prepare and file property tax returns and support other tax-related accounting responsibilities.
• Support annual financial and J-SOX audits by identifying risks, evaluating controls, and recommending improvements to strengthen internal processes.

Pay: $25 - $35/hr dependent on education and years of experience
