What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sr. Project Manager – Hyperscale Data Center Construction position at Insight Global?
Insight Global is seeking experienced Senior Project Managers to assist in large scale hyperscale data center construction projects across the U.S. This role is a critical component for full lifecycle project leadership—from preconstruction through closeout—on complex, high value new builds and finish out scopes. The ideal candidate brings deep hyperscale experience, strong financial and schedule ownership, and the ability to own pieces of large, multidisciplinary teams in fast paced environments. One of these 2 positions will be joining an ongoing project in Cedar Rapids, IA and MUST be local to the area or willing to relocate. The second opening can be located anywhere in the United States, but willing to travel 75% and/or relocate to an undetermined jobsite. For both of these positions once a job is completed, the expectation is 75% travel ability and willingness to relocate for future projects. Other responsibilities include:
- Manage daily construction operations, subcontractors, and field coordination
- Own project schedule execution, including short‑interval planning and milestone tracking (P6)
- Track labor productivity, cost performance, and production metrics
- Maintain project documentation: RFIs, submittals, change orders, meeting minutes
- Coordinate closely with PX on forecasting, earned value, and reporting
- Serve as a primary client‑facing representative on site, especially during close‑out and commissioning phases
- Travel to HQ for onboarding and process alignment as needed
Qualifications:
- 10 total years of Construction Project Manager experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience being within data center construction
- Experience with capital project budgets up to $100m
- Experience with Earned Value Management is preferred
Salary: $150,000-$190,000 Bonus Opportunities
Travel Cadence: approximately two weeks per month and travel days are typically Monday & Thursdays

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
