A client of Insight Global is seeking a detail-oriented Site Layout Design Engineer with experience supporting rail system projects. This role focuses on developing preliminary site layouts aligned with system, construction, and safety requirements. Responsibilities include planning equipment placement, conduit routing, grounding, and sensor integration while accounting for site dimensions, access zones, existing infrastructure, and ground conditions. The engineer will identify layout constraints, mitigate potential conflicts with existing systems, support future expansion planning, and collaborate closely with civil, service, and installation teams to ensure layouts align with construction sequencing and installation needs.
Required Skills & Experience
- Experience in site planning and layout design for rail or transportation infrastructure.
- Ability to visualize and sketch basic site configurations.
- Proficiency in 2D and 3D design tools such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, IronCAD; strong understanding of spatial relationships between components.
- Excellent documentation and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across engineering, civil, and construction teams.
Compensation:
$60/hr to $70/hr.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
