Position summary: One of Insight Global’s major clients are seeking a skilled Site Construction coordinator to support utility construction projects. Qualified individuals will be responsible for the following:
- Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for the site owner (if applicable), relaying concerns, or requirements to the Project Manager.
- Monitor and document daily construction progress, contractor performance, and material usage.
- Support the Lead Construction Inspector in maintaining construction documentation, such as daily logs, work verification forms, and photo records.
- Coordinate and track material deliveries to the jobsite, ensuring timely arrival and appropriate storage/handling.
- Route construction questions and field-generated RFIs to the Project Manager and/or Engineering team for resolution.
- Communicate answers, clarifications, and design changes from the Project Manager and Engineering back to the field (Construction Inspector and/or contractors).
- Support jobsite meetings, including contractor coordination, safety briefings, and owner walkthroughs as needed.
- Help identify and escalate issues that could impact cost, schedule, or quality to the Project Manager promptly.
- Ensure that construction is progressing in accordance with the project’s drawings, specifications, and safety standards.
- Assist in verifying work completed for contractor invoice validation and progress payments.
- Contribute to a collaborative and respectful relationship between client, contractors, inspectors, and property owners
Must haves:
- High School Diploma/GED
- 2-5 years as a Project Manager, Assistant Project Manager, Project Engineer, Site Lead, Project Coordinator, or Field Engineer on construction projects
- Experience supporting construction projects for the process industry (combined cycle power plants, paper mills, chemical plants, refineries, etc.)
- Experience interpreting drawings/specifications, coordinating crews, and documenting progress.
- Site-based experience such as Coordinator, Scheduler, or Project Controls Specialist with direct exposure to jobsite reporting and contractor oversight.
- Knowledge or certifications in OSHA
Plusses:
- Degree (Bachelor’s or Associates) in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field
- Experience working on utility infrastructure or power plants
- Familiarity with cooperative utilities, member services, or public power agencies.
Compensation:
$38/hr to $50/hr.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
